Yamaha YSL-645 Medium Bore .525 Nice 80's Vintage SN 010296. Pre-owned professional Yamaha Tenor. Has 8 3/8" Yellow Brass Bell, .525 straight bore brass slide, brass end crook. We did full shop service here including chemical bath. This horn plays great. I tested it out with a small shank Bach 6 1/2 mouthpiece, is an ideal size, but no issues with a little smaller or bigger. It just depends upon the type of sound you are looking for. The bell is Medium weight. It feels substantial when you hold it. Is not super light like many of the modern make horns. We like this because it enables you to generate a tremendous amount of energy and presence of sound. Hand slide is very good and has no inner tube plating defects, is a fast slide. In it's day, this was the top model that Yamaha Produced. I think it would be a really nice jazz horn for any advancing player today. It is Just a little larger in bore size than smaller horns, which means you can push it harder without losing sound quality. Overall appearance is good, original lacquer on bell section is outstanding, some lacquer wear on outer slide, mainly grip areas. Original case very good condition. Mouthpiece not included.
