Holton Stratodyne Model Vintage 1955 SN 355357 Holton was making trombones going back to 1900. This one was made 55 years into the companies existence. Has a 7.5" gold brass bell, hand engraved, and lightweight nickel silver handslide with .485. Has had full shop service with chemical bath. No dents or dings, inner and outer slide tubes are in excellent shape. No innder tube plating wear or loss. Has very good slide alignment and plays Proper.. There has always been something special about the combination of gold brass bell paired with a nickel silver handslide. It produces a very warm yet vibrant sound, with lot's of depth. The horn plays multi-dimensional and will do what you ask it to. Great sound for lead/jazz/solo. Many famous jazz guys loved these Holton's, including Buddy Morrow. Not many of them become available because usually the guys that own them are real players and they know they have something special. This one is available now. Comes with original case. Would be an excellent jazz horn for anyone looking to depart from the typical 2B/3B
