Bach 36 Straight Tenor Trombone SN 8447 made in 1965. Is all original parts and lacquer. No issues with slide, it has been set up proper. Made in 1965 is a very early Elkhart make, as Bach moved from Mt. Vernon NY to Indiana in the 1964-65 time frame. This is a very nice playing 36 with gorgeous Bach overtones, characteristic of these classic trombones. Has 8" one piece bell, yellow brass with standard weight .525 bore hand slide. This horn does not need to be serviced, is clean and plays proper. While the lacquer on the bell section still looks good, there was a previous bell crease repair that left a few lines in the lacquer. I don't think it has hurt the way the horn plays today and I would not hesitate to play it on a gig. If this bell had not been repaired previously, it would be listing for sale today for quite a lot more cost, considering the Vintage and how well it plays. Would be a great all around straight tenor for Professional use or for any advancing player. Would be an excellent straight Jazz tenor today for anyone looking for slightly larger. This model is quite adaptable to a variety of music styles, and you can make it play bigger or more compact with an easy mouthpiece change. It plays beautifully with either a 6.5 or 5G mouthpiece. I have also played on these with a 7C and it worked great. Orchestra guys use this size trombone more frequently today when the music requires a more accessible upper range, or when it just stays up there for a long time. This horn includes a cordura Reunion Blues case with back pack straps. It is very similar to the Cronkhite design cases made today.
