Bach

Bach 36B Corporation Bell section with Bach 42 handlside.  Bell/Neck Receiver has been modified to accept a 42 slide.  Has 8" Bell flare, traditional wrap rotor, standard weight slide.  The Bell was made prior to 1976. Handlside is later SN 200943 approximately 2007.  The only difference between this Bach and a stock 42B trad wrap is the bell diameter.  The Bach 36B's of this period were made with the same bell mandrel, tuning slide, and rotor.  The only difference is 1/2" in diameter.  It definitely plays bigger than a 36B with the 42 slide, but not quite as big sounding as a stock 42B. It takes large shank trombone mouthpiece. Quite a few jazz legends over the years have played on similar equipment.  Most notable, Jimmy Knepper used a 42 slide on a 36 straight bell for many years.  Other Jazz guys with bigger horns include, Curtis Fuller, Fred Wesley, and Slide Hampton.

This horn is in good condition, some wear, and signs of age, but no damage.  Bach case with outer cover.  Case has some wood damage at the large end, but is not visible with the cover. Is sold as is, has not been serviced here.
