King 3B Silversonic Trombone, Late 70's era King Musical Instruments SN 669226. All original parts and lacquer. Has 8" sterling silver bell with gold plated inner. Standard .508 bore nickel silver 3B slide with yellow brass end crook. We have had dozens of really 3B silversonics here at The Brass Exchange over the years, this is one of the really great ones. When you come from a brass bell to a sterling silver bell, the first thing you notice is the amount of energy that the sterling creates when played properly. Excellent Jazz or commerical style sound whether all acoustic or on a mic. Lot's of warmth, sort of buttery too. This is the type of horn that a super strong player can give it all that it can take and the sound keeps getting more beautiful.
During the 1960's through the 70's, even into the 80's, King made amazing silversonics. Original case super clean. No service needs to improve playability or appearance. Never damaged. This is a fantastic 3B
