Ganter Lare Bore Tenor, 1980's Make, all original parts and lacquer. The Ganter trombone “Modell Variant“ was built around 1985 and modeled after the famous Kruspe “Modell Weschke” (which was named and built for the iconic German trombone virtuoso and teacher Paul Weschke). Munich instrument maker Hermann Ganter kept the slightly longer, dual bore hand slide and larger bell (8 3/4”), thus keeping the overall conicity of the old German trombones. The large nickel-silver bell garland and extended water key are also old German features. Included is also a single bore slide (.547”), with a long lead pipe to maintain the original conical feel yet blow somewhat freer. Both the original dual-bore slide and the newer large-bore slide take a European shaft mouthpiece (between American small and large shaft). An adapter for a small shaft mouthpiece is included. The large-bore slide can also be played without the lead pipe (thus taking a standard American large shaft mouthpiece), which enables a broader sound. In addition, the large bore slide can also accept a .547 bore leadpipe. A Shires leadipe fits perfectly but would need threads removed for a perfect press fit. In addition to the detachable F-attachment, the two slides, one with detachable lead pipe, “Modell Variant“ offers a number of variations. Two different slides to choose from, both included, plus a straight neckpipe for straight tenor conversion. The previous owner played this instrument in many top German orchestras.
Is in fantastic condition. No service needs to improve playability.
