King 3B Silversonic Trombone SN 389556 H.N. White Era, Made in the early 1960's. King introduced the 3B around 1957. The Silversonic is considered to be one of the greatest Jazz trombone models of all time. They still make it today, it's called the Legend series and the Sterling silver model is priced at $4787. Players and collectors know that the H.N. White 3B from the 1960's are the real deal. This one definitely is the real deal. First, it's all original parts and lacquer. Second, it's never been damaged or repaired. Has been gently used and cared for it's entire existence. We feel fortunate to have it here in our shop now. The handslide is perfect. Really, you can't get a better 3B slide. Original lacquer is in gorgeous condition, some surface wear but not much. There is a small amount of gold plating loss on the edge of the inner bell. We decided to leave it alone. It is just a few spots about 1/4" in width in a few inches long in a couple places. You can see it in one of the display pics here. The original case is also in excellent condition, Black/Silver Coffin. This is the type of horn that will enable a serious Jazz player to take his sound to the next level. Sterling bells are heavier, denser alloy, and do take a little more energy in to resonate fully, but the payoff is enormous energy out front. You get an enormous penetrating sound with lots of center, clarity, and warmth. People love the way they sound. This one is one of the best here yet.
