CONN

Conn 40H Vintage Elkhart Made around 1927 SN 248672.  This is known as the Ballroom model, and has tuning in handslide.  Has 7" Bell and #3 Conn Bore approx .500 bore. We have had quite a few of these pass through our shop over the years and have play tested every single one.  First of all, this was  work horse pro player instrument.  Back in those days Radio Orchestras, Dance Bands, Recording Studios, had multiple trombone players on the gig, and those guys played music for a living.  When you watch old movies today, the Classics, you know what I mean.  This model has original glass bead silver plate, with gold plate inner bell.  Has had full shop service. Handslide is very playable, especially if you know how to lubricate it properly- probably would be best with a cream/water spray type lubricant today, and that is exactly what they used back in those days. Would be an excellent traditional jazz or dixieland trombone for a player looking to capture that authentic sound and appearance.  One thing to understand about T.I.S. tuning in slide is that more of the energy out of the instrument is captured due to the added weight, which creates amazing projection.  Yes you really play these loudly when not on a mic. But, of course they sound beautiful when played at lower dynamics too.

Has original case, and a Conn mouthpiece.  In-stock for immediate delivery.
