Benge Model 175 Medium Bore Tenor. Has 8" Bell with .525 bore size, similar to the 3B Plus model by King. Not many of these produced, nor many around. This is the first one that we have seen in 10 years. Pictured prior to shop service and clean-up, in process. Has not had any prior damage or repairs, minor tuning slide dings only, but being removed along with full shop service and chemical bath. The best way to describe the way this horn plays is that is a cross between a Bach 36 and a King 3B. Takes small shank mouthpiece. Would be an excellent jazz horn for anyone looking to play on something a little bigger than the typical 2B-3B. Benge was an excellent instrument maker and it's a shame that the company didn't survive longer. Trumpet players especially recognize that excellent quality of Benge materials and craftsmanship.
