Mount Vernon Bach 37 ML Bb Trumpet – New York Era, All Original

This Mount Vernon Bach Stradivarius 37 ML Bb Trumpet, built circa 1955 during the New York era, is part of our Archive of Sold Instruments. Though it was sold over five years ago, it remains one of the most desirable and well-preserved examples of a vintage Bach trumpet we’ve handled at The Brass Exchange.

The instrument was entirely original, featuring factory silver plating, matching parts, and classic Mount Vernon engraving. Prior to sale, it received a complete chemical cleaning and shop servicing to ensure playability. The horn played with a centered, dark tone and offered a sweet, expressive character typical of mid-century Bach craftsmanship. Valve compression was within normal range, and it came with the original case—well-worn but functional—as well as two vintage mouthpieces.

This example exemplifies the qualities that serious players and collectors seek in vintage brass instruments: originality, tonal integrity, and historical pedigree. Instruments like this Mount Vernon Bach trumpet are highly valued not just for their performance qualities but also for their rarity and collectability.

We’re often asked about the value of used trumpets or the best way to sell a brass instrument. Our experience with instruments of this caliber allows us to assist with accurate evaluations, consignments, and direct purchases. If you’re looking to sell a professional-grade trumpet or explore similar vintage models, we’re always happy to help.

While The Brass Exchange is best known for low brass, we also offer select pre-owned trumpets and vintage Bach Stradivarius models, including rare silver-plated trumpets and professional horns from the Mount Vernon and Elkhart eras.
