Trombone Lessons at St. Louis Brass Exchange. If you have been looking for a trombone instructor, teacher or coach for yourself or a student, you may have come to the right place. We are located in St. Louis, MO in the Kirkwood area. We also have an awesome trombone shop with many custom and vintage professional trombones.
We teach trombone lessons for people of all ages, including middle school, high school, college, adult players, weekend warriors. All styles of trombone playing taught here- from basic fundamentals to audition preparation, classical and jazz styles.
Lessons at The Brass Exchange are taught by the Father-Son duo Douglas & Jackson Bert.
About Jackson Bert: He started playing in 5th grade. But there are family photos of him hold and playing trombone when he was wearing diapers. That's what happens when you grow up in a music house. Jackson Started at Kirkwood High School, Studied Privately with Robert Settle, then Timothy Meyers, Principal St. Louis Symphony. Then after his sophomore year, he transferred to Interlochen Arts Academy, in Michigan, where he studied with Tom Riccobono and Jonathan Lombardo, Buffalo Philharmonic. After graduating from High School, Jackson went on to Study at The New England Conservatory, Boston, MA. His Primary Teacher at NEW was Norman Bolter, Boston Pops, Boston Symphony Orchestra. Today Jackson resides in St. Louis and works in the family business The Brass Exchange, teachs private lessons, and plays professionally around the St. Louis area.
About Doulas Bert: Started playing trombone at age 10, past teachers include Robert Settle, Bernard Schneider (Principal Trombone St. Louis Symphony 1956-1988), Lewis Van Haney, Indiana University (New York Philharmonic), David Baker, Jazz Studies Indiana University. Mr. Bert is most known as a commercial and jazz musician but also plays classical trombone and teaches all Styles of music. Douglas loves to teach lessons to adult players as well as younger students.
