Yamaha YSL-646 Medium Bore .525 Tenor. This is a model originally only available in Japan, Europe. Was introduced in 1976. Has Yellow Brass Bell, lightweight brass handslide, standard rotor. This model has never been damaged or repaired, even the lacquer is near 100%. Is a gorgeous looking horn. We did full shop service here including chemical bath and complete once over. This is a pro level horn, but, would be an ideal first trigger horn for an advancing younger player or for any age player looking for medium bore options. Takes small shank mouthpiece. Many students prefer medium bore vs. large bore .547 because it is an easier transition, and is more versatile for all styles of music, band, orchestra, small group, jazz. Current model Yamaha such as YSL-640 sell for over $2400 today. This would be a great step-up horn for a young player, or a perfect "step down" for a mature player looking to move down from .547 bore.
