Yamaha YSL-6440 Medium Bore Tenor Trombone SN 002917. Experienced Horn, meaning it has been played on quite a lot, yet is still in good playing condition. Has 8.5" Yellow Brass Bell, with .525 Bore brass slide, takes standard small shank mouthpiece. We like this model with a Bach 6 1/2AL or similar. Mostly unlacquered, some lacquer remains on various parts, giving it a vintage looking patina. We did full shop service here including chemical bath and once over. The slide is straight and good. Has hand grip wear, we have seen worse. Traditional rotor, in very good playing condition. There are no surprises on this horn, it's just been around a while. Would be an excellent first trigger horn for a younger player or for anyone on a tight budget looking for something pro level. Or, would be a great horn to leave at school and keep your good one at home. We know trombone players. When this model was introduced 20-30 years ago, it was the top model that Yamaha made. It's still a good horn. Has a newer Getzen Hard Case in excellent condition. No service needs to improve appearance or playability. Perfect all around size. Is a good playing horn at the right price. Includes mouthpiece.
