Yamaha YSL-630 SN 001304 Medium Bore .525 Straight Tenor. Has 8.5" Yellow Brass Bell. Takes Small Shank Mouthpiece. Prior to the Yamaha Xeno series, the YSL-600 level trombones were the the top of the line for Yamaha. This is a very good all around horn. You can play jazz with it, school band/orchestra, and a lot of other styles. I think it would be a great Salsa or Latin Jazz sound. Has a huge sound and plays easy. This horn has some lacquer wear. We did full shop service here, has been de-dented and chemical bath. The slide is very good, no additional service needs. There is a minor defect on the wire rim, which is at approximately at 8 o'clock when in playing condition, it has been nicked through. We could cover it with a small brass patch, but I like the way it plays as is. It gives the sound a little extra character. It really not a bad defect. Compared to most of the horns that I see most students with today, especially school owned horns, it really not bad at all. And is of course, reflected in the price. Includes mouthpiece and original case. I have no hesitation recommending this horn, it plays great.
