Bach 42B Corporation Era Vintage, SN 36270 made in the 1970's. We love being a vintage trombone shop because we get trombones like this one. Single owner horn, has been closet kept 30 or more years. Upon arrival here we did full shop service including chemical bath. The bell had a few dings in the flare and a small crease removed, which you can see lightly in the photo where the bell is flat on the table, is around the 8 o'clock position. Our guru did his brass magic and it came out nicely. This 42B is all original parts and lacquer. Definitely a great player. The handslide is very good. Moderate lacquer wear over the entire instrument, as Bach did not use long lasting durable lacquer in those days. Has the classic 8.5" yellow brass bell, standard weight .547 bore slide, no red rot or plating defects. It's a nice horn. Would be a perfect choice for an advancing student looking for the classic Bach sound. The 42B remains one of the most popular large bore tenor choices of all time. Once you play on them you get hooked. IF I had high school student today looking for that first pro level horn, but not ready for 5K+ this is my top recommendation. Original case in superior condition. Mouthpiece not included.
