Shires Tenor Valve Section Pre-owned Dual bore valve for large or medium size trombone. Is a custom series Shires part made in Boston, MA. Is approximately 5 years old, single owner. Is in excellent playing condition. Some lacquer wear, yet all original, no prior damage or repairs, is in super clean condition. No service needed to improve the way this valve plays. Is compatible with all Shires custom series parts, as well as most of the Q series large tenor components. This is the valve model that is standard on the Shires Custom Vintage Elkhart model. It works great with both medium bore .525 and large tenor .547 handslides. Is more compact in feel and sound than standard rotor, axial, or trubore. Has a quick and medium length throw, is quite easy on the hand, not to mention is also slightly less weight than many of the other valves.
