S.E. Shires Mike Davis Plus, a recently made model, has seen very little use except play testing in our shop here. This trombone was a standout in its class, featuring a perfect handslide possibly the best one we have had yet. The instrument played easily and had an exceptional sound, ideal for players seeking both ease of play and top-tier performance. The horn featured a .508 bore with the Mike Davis Leadpipe, which is unique to this model by Shires.
The handslide was made of nickel silver with a yellow brass end crook, similar to the King 3B model, and offered smooth action and comfort. The cross brace on the right-hand side was thin, reminiscent of the Urbie Green style, enhancing playability for the musician. This horn was factory new and in flawless condition, representing top-notch craftsmanship.

It was sold with a Black/Red Marco Magi case, an upgrade from standard cases, and included removable backpack straps for convenient transport. The case provided excellent protection and ease of mobility. The mouthpiece was not included in the sale.
This instrument has since been sold, but remains an excellent example of Shires craftsmanship. Its ease of play, stunning sound, and impeccable condition made it a perfect choice for musicians looking to enhance their performance.
