Olds Super Feather Weight Model Trombone , Los Angeles era, vintage 1938, SN 11641. Not many of these made. Only made for a few years up until WWII but then discontinued after the war. This one has a 7" gold brass bell, with L.A. Engraved nickel silver tone ring, "feather" is engraved as well as an engraving of the feather image. This is about the lightest vintage trombone that we have seen since the beginning of The Brass Exchange. Is actually the second one that we have had. The slide to bell receiver is friction fit, also does not have a slide lock. Is a very straight horn, no prior bell damage and is original lacquer. Handslide has octaganol fluted inner tubes. An interesting feature of this model is the shortened length of the inner tube stocking. Is approximately 1/2 the length of a standard olds super slide stocking.
This horn plays proper and would be an excellent instrument for any player/collector. Original case included.
