OLDS
Olds Recording Los Angeles CA Vintage.  Was made prior to 1953 at the LA factory.  Has 8" gold brass bell with fancy engraving.  Handslide is dual bore and made of brass vs.  nickel silver on the later models.  Still has the octagonal fluted inner tubes.  The brass slide plays very warm on this horn.  It feels quite open and can take whatever you have to give it.  This is a very good playing Olds recording.  It has not been damaged.  Most of the lacquer is off.  The handslide is as straight as an arrow.  There is a small plating wear spot on one of the stockings.  It's just the way it is.  Frankly, the slide is so true and straight that the wear spot does not slow it down.  Many players who love their vintage horns have learned to accept defects like minor plating loss, especially when the instrument plays so great.  This one definitely does.  No service needs to improve playability.  Has original case and mouthpiece.  This would be a fantastic jazz horn for someone looking for a classic warm sound.  In-stock for immediate delivery.
