George Roberts, legendary LA Bass Trombonist played this model for a number of years. Once when asked why he didn't use a 2 valve system, he replied that he always got along fine with just one and never saw a reason to change. This one from the Early 1970's is a seriously great playing Bass. Has 9" Rose/Gold Brass Bell, .565 bore, nickel silver hand slide. Rotary valve system. Has been cleaned and serviced, slide realigned. After clean-up, it really looks and plays terrific. Moderate lacquer wear on grip areas, outer slide. Bell has minimal-moderate lacquer wear. Would make an excellent double for a serious tenor player, or a great single for big/band commercial. Gorgeous round overtones- has super sweet sound. Comes with original case.
