Olds P-22 George Roberts Bass Trombone SN A217151 Made in the 1970's. George Roberts was the most successful Bass Trombonists in the commercial genre of his time. He is on thousands of studio recordings, albums and movie sound tracks. If you ever have a chance to watch movies from the 1950's and 60's and hear amazing trombone work, it is most likely George Roberts. He loved his single valve bass trombones. I once read an interview during his later years. He was asked why he never started using double valve bass trombones and he said that he always seemed to get along fine with one valve and never had a reason to change. If you are shoppping for a used bass trombone with one valve we think you will love this P-22. About this used Olds P-22. It is the Roberts model and is engraved with his name on the Bell. Has 9" gold brass bell. Nickel silver valve wrap, tuning slides and nickel silver handslide, .562 bore. Is in fantastic condition and is all original parts and lacquer. We have had at least a dozen of them here over the years, this one is by far the nicest one yet. Has never been damaged. Handslide is without defects, no plating wear on inner slide tubes. Is ready to play upon delivery. No service needs to improve. We have included a Marco Magi NN Series Artist case.
