Martin Committee Trombone Vintage 1959. Has 8" Bell and is .500 Bore. Urbie Green Was Known to say that he felt that this was the ideal sized horn. Which makes sense the later Martin Urbie TR4501 was also 8" Bell with .500 Bore Slide. Of course quite a few differences over the years in design, but this may be the one that got the ball rolling with Urbie and Martin. All orginal parts, lacquer, case. Never damaged or repaired. This horn plays dark and open. It is the type of horn that can take a lot of wind without backing up or getting ugly, but it plays gorgeous a lower dynamic levels. Very easy, with warm centered pitches, like velvety. Is super rare, we have never seen a 8" Committee like this before over the years. Handslide tubes are super straight and without plating defects, no red rot either. Some lacuqer wear on the bell section spotty, brings out the character of this ornately engraved instrument. Would be an excellent choice for any jazz player looking to play vintage and also looking to depart from the typical 2b-3b. No service needs to improved playabilty. In-stock for immediate delivery.
