Features: Has NN Series Black Main Panels, This is a rugged synthetic material that is also used for motorcycle seats, extremely durable, protective and scuff resistant. Top and bottom panels are Burgundy leather type material. Has gorgeous two-tone look. These are very unique cases that are only available at The Brass Exchange.
Interior is plush navy blue long loop velvet, is sort of "furry". Don't leave it open around pets, they will take it over, no joke.
The case shell is lightweight polyurethane, super strong and protective, of course the PU is covered with the NN and Burgundy Leather. The case has two handles: Main on center of case and top handle. There are three nickel silver plated latches on this model. No zippers anywhere. We like this about them a lot. Backpack Straps are included. This is a very light case, approx 7 pounds. Is lighter than the higher cost model, but no lack in quality. Is comparable in weight to a leather Cronkhite Gig Bag, also around 7 Lbs. The interior compartment is very simple and is intuitive. There are no foam velcro blocks to move around. You just put the horn in and close the lid. Both the top and bottom interior is padded which press onto the bell stem and neck area to prevent the trombone from sliding around when closed. Normally we like things that slide, but not your horn inside a case.
There is a center compartment large enough to place a small pouch for mouthpiece and small accessories. Once the lid is closed, items placed in the compartment will not shift and move about inside the case. We recommend using a small mouthpiece pouch, or just wrap your piece in a small cloth. It will be fine.
Outer dimensions: Length 34", Body Width 5.5", Bell Flare Width 9.5". This will fit in an airline overhead compartment.
The standard back pack straps are included and definitely do the job if you are wanting to carry it in that fashion. We also have a more deluxe style back pack strap that you can upgrade to now or later, also made by Marco Magi, Italy. If you prefer a single shoulder strap, simply move the strap to the two top nickel plated O-rings. Or, if you want to go strapless, well, you get the idea... the main handle is comfortable and smooth, will not dig into to your hand, is exactly what you want in a main handle.
When we designed this case we were thinking: Attractive, Durable, Lightweight, Protective, and of course Functional. It is not the type of case that you are going to put a lot of other things in, like tuners, sheet music, mutes, and definitely not attach a trombone stand to the outside. It is a simple instrument case that looks great, protects, and is reliable.
Customers that have purchased this model are very happy. One of the things about it worth mentioning, since only small number of this exact model have been made by Marco Magi, it is very unlikely that you will ever encounter a random trombone player with a case exactly like yours. I took one to a gig recently, a wedding band at a downtown hotel. I had to walk a couple of blocks, used the single shoulder strap, and carried my mute bag with my K&M trombone stand in it. It was super easy.
