King Liberty Early 1940's Make Serial 234xxx. Historic instrument by also seriously usable today for professional play. During WWII, beginning December 1941, brass instrument manufacturing began to change, eventually, brass was rationed and production was limited. This Liberty was made during that period. All original parts, lacquer, case. Never damaged or repaired. Small bore tenor with yellow brass 7 3/8" bell (approx). Has brass outer slide, not dual bore like the typical 2B. Has gorgeous centered classic "King" sound and feel, typical of Big Band Era and later small ensemble Jazz. Playability: Pitches slot easily throughout low to upper register. Sings sweetly in the upper range- like Dorsey. Would make and excellent lead or solo jazz horn for any serious player- Professional to advancing student. Handslide is excellent and has been well cared for. Professionally played, owned, maintened, this horn is available for immediate delivery and is gig ready. Mouthpiece not included.
