King 5B Symphony Silversonic Large Bore Tenor made in the early 1970's. SN 473203. This is an all orgiginal condition, lacquer, parts, super mint Silversonic. Has a fantastic slide, bell has never been damaged, valve section operates perfectly. Sterling silver 9" Bell with outer clear lacquer, gold plating inner bell 24K. True, this is an amazing horn to look at, but wait till you play it. Any King lover will take to this immediately. Would be an ideal "small bass" for a traditional big band player that needs an occasional double- 3d or 4th parts. But Orchestra guys take note: Sterling silver bells push and enormous amount of energy out front, with crystal clear focused sound. This one plays huge, as the bell stem is a more gradual taper, wide throat similar to a bass bell. This model can take whatever you have to give it. Original King large Shank mouthpiece included. Has keys to the case, also in perfect condition. No flaws or issues. You will see overhauled Silversonics just like this on ebay by the H.N. White seller in the $3000 range.
