King 3BF Silversonic trombone. Made in the late 1970's SN 495049. All original parts and lacquer. Is in excellent condition. Never any major damage or repairs on this trombone. The 3B and 3BF remain one of the most popular jazz trombones since it was introduced in the 1950's. The Silversonic is the sterling silver bell model, with gold plating on the inner bell. Has 8" Bell, with .508 bore nickel silver slide for small shank mouthpiece. This is the ideal sound for jazz and pop style music. A lot of guys over the years have prefered the no F attach model, because they don't want to look like a legit player. But, I know a lot of pro players that prefer the F model because you get more range on the bottom, plus it's nice to be able to play C,B,F,E with the trigger. Sometimes on a tight bandstand, it's not easy to hit 6-7th position, so it makes sense to have one with F.
King still makes the 3B today, called the "Legend". The Sterling silver no F model sells for over $4700. Save Now Play Vintage!
