King 3B Silversonic – 1970s Vintage Jazz Trombone
Vintage Archive Trombone – Sold

This King 3B Silversonic from the 1970s represents one of the most iconic and sought-after jazz trombone models ever made. Known for its rich tone, fast slide, and sterling silver bell, the 3B Silversonic has long been a favorite among lead and commercial players. It was discontinued in the 1980s, revived in the 1990s, and is now available again from Conn-Selmer under the Legend Series—but make no mistake: the current models are simply replicas of the originals like this one.

Everyone who plays them knows—vintage horns just play better.

This example is a single-owner instrument that has been well cared for and mostly closet-kept for the past 30 years. It has had full shop service, including a chemical bath and thorough mechanical check. The horn plays exactly as it should, with no functional issues and a great slide. The sterling silver bell offers the signature Silversonic clarity and projection, while the gold wash inside the bell flare is striking and beautifully preserved.

There has been no damage to the bell section, and overall this horn is in excellent vintage condition. It's a tremendous player and a smart investment for anyone seeking an authentic vintage King with the true Silversonic sound.

Includes a black nylon Protec gig bag—durable and lightweight.
