King 2B Silversonic – H.N. White Era Vintage Jazz Trombone, SN 426010
The King 2B Silversonic is one of the most iconic jazz trombones ever built, and this vintage example from the H.N. White era, serial number 426010, dates to around 1966. Made during the final years of H.N. White production, this horn represents the peak of American brass craftsmanship. It features a 7.5" sterling silver bell with gold-washed interior, original dual bore handslide (.481"/.491"), and all original parts and lacquer.
Why are vintage King Silversonics so sought after? It's the craftsmanship, the resonance of the sterling bell, and the unique feel that modern reproductions just can’t replicate. This particular example plays open and vibrant — perfect for big band lead work or small group soloing.
This horn was played professionally for many years and it shows — in all the right ways. Never any major damage or repairs, just the honest patina of a well-loved, well-maintained instrument. The handslide is fast, smooth, and properly aligned with no plating loss.
Lacquer on the bell is approximately 75%, with natural wear that enhances the vintage aesthetic. King lacquered over their sterling bells, which prevents tarnish and maintains a warmer look than silver plate. There is modest gold plating loss on the inner bell, consistent with age and regular use, but it retains its visual charm and tonal brilliance.
It has been fully serviced, including chemical bath and mechanical inspection. Free from dents or dings, with a straight bell and excellent slide alignment.
Included is the original King coffin-style case, black exterior with silver trim and blue interior — all latches and handles in excellent working order. A perfect complement to the instrument’s vintage appeal.
If you’re searching for a real-deal vintage King 2B Silversonic — not a modern replica — with the tone, feel, and pedigree to match, this is your chance. In stock and available for immediate delivery.
