King 2B Silversonic – H.N. White Era, Vintage 1955–1960
Vintage Archive Trombone – Sold
Most likely built in 1956 or 1957, this vintage King 2B Silversonic is a true gem from the H.N. White era. It features all original parts and lacquer—nothing replaced, no hidden repairs, and no signs of trauma. Just an honest horn with decades of real-world use and a story to tell.
And yes, this one has provenance. It comes from a retired Los Angeles-based studio player who logged thousands of sessions—a serious working musician who knew how to care for a great instrument. The horn has recently undergone a full chemical bath and shop service, and has been adjusted for maximum playability. The slide feels great, and there are no functional issues whatsoever—just moderate lacquer wear, consistent with age and professional use.
What makes this horn especially appealing is that it's completely original, not overhauled or relacquered. Many Silversonics from this period that have been refinished routinely sell in the $2,500–$3,000 range, but not everyone wants new lacquer. We kept this one exactly as it is—a fantastic player’s horn that delivers all the vintage tone and feel these models are famous for.
Includes the original alligator-style coffin case, also in good condition. The leather shows some exterior wear, but the latches are functional, and it remains a solid, practical case for storage or transport.
If you’re looking for a classic lead jazz trombone with authentic character, proven history, and top-tier craftsmanship, this is the real deal.
