King 2B Liberty vintage 1955 H.N. White Era. If you were a lead player or soloist like Dorsey, Kai Winding, or Urbie Green during the big band era, you most likely would have choosen a 2B as your axe of choice. This is a special make 2B. It is not a silversonic, sterling silver bell. this is a yellow brass 2B Liberty with silver and gold plating. We think that Dorsey would have loved this horn. It is in perfect condition and has had full shop service, chemical bath, small dings and imperfections removed. All of the silver plating is intact. The gold plated inner bell is 100%. Other areas of gold plating include the hand braces on the slide grip, cork barrels, oversleeves, ferrels, tuning slide bracing, and of course balance weight. The floral engraving is crisp, and looks like it was made yesterday, even though this instrument is from 1955. It has indeed been closet kept by the original pruchaser for many years. Original coffin case is in near perfect condition. Comes with a gold plated King M21 (J.J. Johnson) Mouthpiece. Is both a collectors piece as well as a players horn. Many 2B and 3B's have passed through this shop over the past 10 years, never any 2B's quite like this one. Price includes a full handslide pro set up. If no set-up desired, take off $150, yes, totally playable as is, but why not make it perfect.
