This contrabass is a copy of the traditional Miraphone and is made by Jinbao, one of the more important manufacturers of musical instruments in China. Their instruments are sold under many brand names including: Dillon, Stauffer, Wessex, Mack Brass, Allora, Schiller, O'Mally, and many others. It is in BB flat with a FF attachment. The slide is a triple bore, starting at 551 then to .590 and ending at about .614 bore. The FF valve is larger, about .630 as I recall. The bell is only 9.5 inches, but the throat is much larger than any regular bass trombone. Since is has a double slide, the positions are the same as a normal trombone. The range is the same as a BB flat tuba. The mouthpiece requires a tuba shank, but a shallow cup. regular tuba mouthpieces sound dull. A mouthpiece that gives a brilliant sound on the F tuba can work well, a JK 6D can also work very well. Horn has been cleaned and serviced. A crease was removed from the flare. It's super clean otherwise and in ready playing condition. Excellent condition case and mouthpiece also included.
