Holton Collegiate Super SN 261663 Freshened up like new-amazing student model from the 50's. No defects or flaws. All original parts, recently overhauled, fresh lacquer. Has a synthetic type of flexible plastic on the end crook of the slide. Comes from the Ohio area, which is the place where all the H.N. Whites are from. Fantastic old school craftsman keeping the tradition alive today, overhauling nice vintage horns. I think that this is the model that I played on over 50 years ago, when I started playing. Has 7.5" Bell, Stem Yellow Brass, Flare Nickel Silver lacquered. It's a dual bore similar to the King 2B. but they play like Holton all the way. Easy slide, lot's of color in sound. Pitches dial in fast. A perfect horn for a young player, it's not too large or heavy. But heavier build than student horns today, it's made to last. Includes original case and mouthpiece. The outer mouthpiece has plating loss but the rim and cup area appear to be good, maybe re-done at some point. You can use any small shank mouthpiece on the dual slide bore model. The horn favors a smaller mouthpiece, which is ideal for anyone starting the instrument. If you want to try a different mouthpiece, let know when ordering. You shouldn't have any problems with any of the components, such as tuning slide, neck to slide threads, slide lock, inner slide tubes, has superior alignment, inner surface outer tubes also treated here. It's nice. You can use any lubricant made for trombone hand slides. I would start with a liquid type. Includes original case still in working order. Will not disappoint.
