Edwards Bass Trombone, Elkhorn, WI, Professional Custom Series Pre-owned, serviced and very good condition with 9.5" Rose Brass Bell Model 1147CF, Gauge of material Edwards 21, Soldered Rim, Double Buffed, as well as tempered. Edwards makes 4 weights of bells, heaviest is #20 while #23 is the heaviest. Double buffed lightens weight to in between #21-22. It is basically a medium weight bell. The soldered rim takes off some of the bite on articulations. In addition, the tempering process adds some brilliance. But, not too much, after all, Rose brass is a naturally a darker sounding alloy, just fewer high frequencies in the overtones. The bottom line is how it plays with the independent Bb/F/Gb/D axial set with yellow brass tuning slide and lightweight brass straight bore .562 hand slide. I find it to be just a really nice all around bass that you could play pretty much everything on. These are modular components, so you could always adjust your set up later if desired. We did full shop service here including chemical bath and a little adjusting to the bracing in the upper valve set. The rotors and linkage have also been gone over. No dents or dings, good slide, fresh water key pad, and no further service need to improve performance of this instrument. Includes 2 removable pipes, brass standard length and Protec case. Includes fresh sets of rotor oil, linkage & bearing oil, hand slide lubricant.
