8.5 Rose Brass with Half Moon Engraving

Conn 8H Vintage Elkhart Make 1959.  Classic model.  This is the straight tenor version of the 88H.  Conn first produced this model between 1913-34, then continued producing the model again in 1954, the same year that production of the 88H began.  It's all the same as an 88 but no F attachment.  This horn is a single owner instrument.  Pro player used it his whole career until recently.  Has rose brass 8.5" bell.  Straight bore .547 handslide.  The innerslide tubes were replaced years ago on this horn, and it plays fantastic.  Has superior alignment and no slide issues. Has original Conn leadpipe, and springs in first position.  We did full on shop service here including chemical bath and once over.  No dents or dings.  Previous dent work on bell section, but is totally fine now.  Would be a fantastic straight large bore tenor for any player, all levels .  I feel that the bell is light.  My personal one is from the 60's.  These are great horns.  Mouthpiece not included.  Original case in good condition. To put price into perspective:  A current make 8H cost new today for over $2600, todays horns are replicas of this model.  You can buy a Vintage Elk bell only new today without tuning slide, neck pipe, or balance weight, from a well known American Brass Factory for over $1400  We have had many 8H's here over the years and really like this one.  Will not dissapoint.  In-stock for immediate delivery.
