Conn 88H Vintage Elkhart 1969 Make SN M10468. Classic 88H Model with 8.5" Rose Brass Bell and .547 Bore Slide. Is all original parts and lacquer. Since it's introduction in the 1950's, the 88H model has been one of the most popular tenor trombone professional models of all time. I know professional players who have played on these all of their lives. Is an ideal size and plays gorgeous. We have had 100+ of these over the years. We did full shop service here including chemical bath, de-dented, rotor serviced, slide improved. Handslide has no inner slide tube plating loss. It did have a bell stem dent at the cross brace near the diamond shaped mounting hardware. We took it out carefully, you can see it in a few of the pics up close. When we get super mint 88H's from the Elkhart period they generally are priced much higher, as a new 88H replica model made today sells for nearly $3500. This one has some lacquer wear and pitting on various parts, most noticeable on the grip areas of the outer slide. It still plays proper. I have been playing it here for the past few days and love the sound and the way it feels, really resonates. Has a huge broad sound. Would be a nice first pro level horn for an advancing player, or anyone looking to play an Elkhart 88H but looking for something moderately priced compared to other Elkharts. The case is a later make 88H Conn Case, good condition. Original Remington Mouthpiece Included.
