Conn 88H Vintage Elkhart Large Bore tenor trombone, serial number N39621, was made in 1970, the final year of production at the Elkhart factory prior to the move to Abilene TX. This horn has had full shop service including chemical bath and once over. The lacquer is worn considerably on the outer bell, most likely from storage. Despite the dull appearance, it is a very straight 88H that plays easily. The handslide is very good and the inner slide tubes are 100%. Rotor has also been serviced and adjusted perfectly. This is the type of horn that you would give to a young player for a first trigger horn. Just skip the step-up intermediate class and go straight to professional Vintage Conn Elkhart. No serious trombonist that ever played on the 88H model for years ever looked back on the 88H with regret. This one is not the prettiest one ever, but it plays exactly as it should and will definitely do the job. No service needs to improve playability. Original case, fair condition.
