CONN
6H

Conn 6H Trombone – Vintage 1958. This is without question the finest example of a 6H we’ve ever had at The Brass Exchange—both in condition and playability. A true time capsule horn, it has become a personal favorite and remains highly sought after by serious jazz trombone players.

This instrument was a single-owner horn, barely played during its original life, and stored for decades in the basement by the wife of the original owner. Upon acquiring it, we performed a professional chemical flush and cleaning, and replaced only the water key pad and cork barrel felts. Everything else is untouched—the lacquer is 100% original, with no modifications or touch-ups of any kind.

The slide is exceptionally fast and responsive, with no drag or tension, and the inner slide tubes are pristine. Tonally, the horn is rich, vibrant, and full, with a resonance that speaks easily across all registers. What sets this one apart is its surprising ease of intonation, especially in the upper range above high B♭. The Conn 6H is the model famously played by jazz legend Frank Rosolino—and this example lives up to that legacy.

Included in the original case: paperwork, music lyre, mouthpiece, and even the original case keys. Vintage artifacts like these tell a story—and so does this horn.

Can you still find a vintage Conn 6H trombone that plays like new? This one proves it’s possible.
