Conn 62H Bass Trombone, Vintage 1968 Elkhart Era, single family owner. In fantastic condition. Big brother to the 88H, this one plays very easy. Exceptionally vibrant and resonate. Tuning in hand slide TIS has been relocated/modified by previous owner from lower outer slide tube to upper slide tube. The TIS feature allows the entire bell section to remain conical in design, vs. cylindrical when bell section tuning slide. Some players feel that the TIS adds to much weight to the slide- but this model is actually very light, mechanism is surprisingly small, combined with an already somewhat light brass outer hand slide. Everything about this horn is great. Although some spots of chrome wear on the inner slide below the stockings, the slide is amazingly smooth and tension free. We took special care during it's cleaning to not change or get carried away- yes it's really good- slide is really nice. Dependent valve system- goes from F on first valve to E when together. Would make an excellent bass trombone for the 88H guy or Conn player. Sound and feel is not too dark like some orchestral bass trombones- would work great in pits and big bands- seriously pro level good.
