Conn 44H Vocabell Model SN 388521. Made in 1949 Vintage Elkhart era. Brass instrument manufacturing in the U.S. was at it's peak following WWII in the midst of the Big Band era. This is the type of horn a pro player would use to entertain people with live music. Trad Jazz Players recognize the benefits of a small bore. Rimless "Vocabell" Conn design. They also made trumpets this way. We have had many of the Vocabell trombones here over the years and like them a lot. The Conn #2 bore is in the .480's range. Gold brass slide, standard weight, nickel end crook. Upper bell slanted bracing, bell to stem and also off set tuning slide. Is all yellow brass, lacquered. Minor spot of plating loss on an inner slide tube, that's it. Still straight and quick. You will like the way it plays as is. Updated photos on this page now following clean up.
