Conn 24H Vintage 1928 Small Bore Jazz Trombone. Originally Named the Ballroom Model. The model was introduced in 1928. This is the earliest one that we know of in existence. Serial Number is 261097, other markings include "T" and P27 on the back of the outer handslide. This is in fact all original material and finish. Has 7" Brass Bell with glass bead satin silver, with bright silver around the engraving, gold wash inner bell. Handslide is also silver plated, standard weight and .485 bore, same as the 4H Model. The most notable difference between the models is that the 24H has the bell back slightly, originally to facilitate easier mute changes, in the ballroom setting. This horn has never been damaged or repaired. We did full shop service including chemical bath and once over. The slide action is fantastic. No defects or wear on the inner tubes. Even though this horn is over 90 years old today, it just proves that Conn had every intention of producing the best quality instruments that were made to last a lifetime. This one came from a collector that rarely played it. I have played it however, and like it a lot. Today it could be an amazing lead horn, jazz solo, contemporary jazz or trad jazz. Many instrument makers today are trying to replicate old-school hand-crafted instruments like this. This is the real thing. Once you play it you know why they are so amazing. Has original case and mouthpiece. The gold mouthpiece in the photos is not included. In-stock for immediate delivery.
