B&S 3061 Bass Trombone Made In Germany, Is nearly the same as the Courtois 502. Buffet Crampon owns both of these companies, and are considered one of the top European Brass Instrument Companies today. You won't see much info about this model in the U.S. becasue dealers don't carry them. It's too bad, becasue it really is a great horn. This one is a gold brass 9.5" one piece bell. Independent Bb/F/Gb/D In-line rotor, which has actually been improved by a well known repair tech/bass player. The valves are super quiet, play very easlily, quick action, very comfortable in the left hand. The Handslide is a standard .562 bore medium weight nickel silver. This bass is German all the way. It plays fantastic. It speaks easily, repsonds quickly, and will take what you give it. Forward projection is outstanding. Would make an excellent all around bass. Plays quite dark with a weighty sound. Players that have spent time on Gold Brass Bach's will love this model. We get a lot of bass trombones in the shop here, play all of them, compared to any other Basses under 4K, this will knock it out of the park. Other makes like Yamaha, Conn-Selmer, even Q-series not even close in quality, you can tell the minute you pick it up. A new one like it in Europe is in the $5600 range. Easily a $5600 Bass in the U.S. we think. The horn isn't exactly new, but, you wouldn't know that from looking at it or playing it. Has a gorgeous hard shell plywood blue covered case which is super protective. Mouthpiece not included. In-stock for immediate delivery.
