Mount Vernon Bach 37 ML Bb Trumpet – New York Era, All Original

This Mount Vernon Bach Stradivarius 37 ML Trumpet, built around 1955 during the New York era, now resides in our Archive of Sold Instruments. Though sold over five years ago, it remains a strong representation of the rare and highly desirable used brass instruments we proudly offer at The Brass Exchange.

This example was all original, with factory silver plating, original parts, and classic Mount Vernon engraving. Prior to sale, it was chemically cleaned and serviced to ensure maximum playability. The horn played beautifully—dark, centered, and expressive—with a sweet, gorgeous tone that speaks to the excellence of mid-century Bach craftsmanship.

Valve compression was within normal range, and the horn included its original case (well-worn but functional) and two vintage mouthpieces. These details highlight both the instrument’s pedigree and its suitability for serious players and collectors alike.

We regularly hear questions like “What is the value of a used brass instrument?” or “How much is my trumpet worth?” Instruments like this Mount Vernon Bach Trumpet are among the most sought-after vintage trumpets, prized for their sound, build quality, and historical significance.
