Bach 50B2 Bass Trombone SN 53069 made in the 1980's Elkhart, IN. This model was originally designed as dependent valves with Eb tuning with both valves in first position. Previous owner had it customized with a D tuning slide and split the triggers from it's original roller/key mechanism. Now you get a low D in first position just like independent bass trombones made today with Bb/F/Gb/D tuning. Has standard 9.5" yellow brass bell and standard weight .562 straight bore slide.
Has had full shop service here including chemical bath and complete once over. It certainly plays proper and has that classic Bach bass trombone sound. Would be really nice first bass trombone for an advancing student, or even for a pro player looking for a nice double. No dents or dings, no red rot or major defects. Handlside is very good and plays correctly. The bell section has been delacquerd. But original lacquer remains of valve set, tuning slide, and handslide. Includes a Protec bass trombone case. No service needs to improve playability.
The current model B502 sells today new by dealers for $5500.
