Bach 42G from Early 1970's "Corporation" Era, with Miller Valve, standard weight 1980's 42 Slide. Bach 42 players love their horns, but over the years have moved away from the traditional Bach rotary valve. It is widely known that Bach used the same valve on both the 42 and the 36, many feel that the valve is undersized for the 42, increasing resistance and a stuffy low range in the trigger. The Miller valve (St. Louis, MO) addtional info is available on the inventors website; http://www.millervalve.com/index.html What we can tell you is that not many of these valves were produced relative to other aftermarket trombone valves, nevertheless, guys that play on them really like them a lot. The do in fact play very open with great efficiency. This entire horn has been cleaned, serviced, and adjusted for maximum playability. The slide is as good as any, totally straight and smooth. Minimal cosmetic flaws, lacquer, ect. This would make an excellent horn for either an advancing student or pro player looking for the Bach Gold Brass Sound. Case Included. Mouthpiece not included. We will consider offering the bell/valve as a separate comonent if handslide is not desired. This may pair well with a Nickel Bach 50 Slide- Jay Friedman Style.
